seaside delight

"OH I DO LIKE TO BE BESIDE THE SEASIDE"

May 2011

A coach-load of Academy students recently enjoyed a glorious day out to Littlehampton on the South coast. It is a traditional seaside town that straddles the mouth of the River Arun, offering two beautiful beaches, a harbour and the best fish and chips in the world! Recent renovations to the promenade added a modern twist to the classic coastal views, including the longest bench in Britain.

On the trip were a mixture of Miss Tufnell's Year 11 Media students and Mrs Cheetham's Year 10 Travel and Tourism class. For Media, this was a photo shoot as part of an 'Apprentice-style' challenge to re-brand Littlehampton in a bid to increase profits for local businesses.

The Tourism group were on a fact-finding mission, researching the range of holidays available at a British seaside resort. Needless to say, both parties were overjoyed by the superb sunshine! Thanks to the students for their hard work and co-operation, and to Mr O'Leary and Mrs Ewers for helping the day run smoothly. A great day out…we're looking forward to next year already!
