Safe Organisation Checklist

Protecting Children and Young People

A safe organisation The Academy ensures that its governing body, all of its employees, commissioned or contracted agents and volunteers or adult participants are aware of their responsibilities to safeguard children and young people. This is done through:

  •  

Safe recruitment/selection practice(including but not only rigorous checking of applications, references and enhanced CRB checks) – including the training of those who recruit staff to work with children and young people

  •  

Clear expectations of staff with regard to personal conduct and promoting the well-being of children and young people

  •  

Good induction systems and ongoing training/updates for staff (and others) in minimum standards in child protection

  •  

Clear access to guidance/procedures for child protection

  •  

Clear and accessible complaints and whistle-blowing procedures

  •  

Designated officer

The Academy is committed to safeguarding children and expects all staff to share this commitment. We follow safe recruitment practices to protect children and young people. All successful applicants will be subject to an enhanced Criminal Records Bureau check.
