about Us
The Parents Communications Forum, (PCF) has been set up to improve communications between home and The Academy. We also want to make it easier for you to communicate with the Academy when you have a problem or need help.
The group meets once every half term to discuss a whole range of issues including:-
- The contents of communications issued by The Academy
- Timings and methods of communications from The Academy
- Matters that you feel communications should have been issued for
- Suggestions for improving the way the that The Academy gets information to you
It is also a forum to:-
- Consult and inform parents/carers about things The Academy are intending or considering doing
- Air views and opinions about a range of Academy issues.

The group is led by Kim Hopping, Parent Governor of The Aylesbury Vale Academy, so there is a direct line to the Governing body.

Email Addresses and Text Messaging
Many parents have told us they would like to receive details by email so we are going to start collecting these together. Text messaging is another way of getting information to you so we will be collecting mobile phone numbers.
If you would like to receive information in either of these ways, send your details to us at parents@theacademy.me.

Currently the group is looking for feed back on the following areas:
Communication Experiences
We want to know what your communication experiences are - good and bad. How is the Academy getting it right and where is it going wrong? Let us know by email or leave your details at the Academy reception marked for the attention of Kim Hopping – PCF.
Parent Champion
Translation Service
At our first meeting we suggested having a Parent Champion for each tutor group to monitor communications and liaise with other parents of students in that group. If you would be interested in being part of this please contact us.
PCF would also like to know whether there is a need to translate some Academy communications into other languages. Please let us have your views by emailing parents@theacademy.me or by leaving your written comments with the Academy reception marked for the attention of Kim Hopping – PCF.
