roald dahl parade a great success
aylesbury town centre hosts a fantastic parade
2 July 2011
Aylesbury Town Centre was buzzing with excitment on Saturday with the annual Roald Dahl Festival parade marching through the streets.
In celebration of this renown author, the event this year saw a host ot fantastic giant puppet characters from Dahl's book 'George's Marvellous Medicine'.
A cohort of Academy Year 9 students recently spent a week creating four of the main characters from the book. These students marched through the streets with their proud creations on what was a very enjoyable and successful day.
Congratulations to the team for their hard work and a big thank you from the Art Department to all who helped.
Year 9 Participation
Each year participating secondary schools are given a week to produce the magnificent creations for the parade and each receive support and guidance from local artists.
The Academy were extremely proud to be involved again this year. A cohort of year 9 students worked solidly for a week creating some of the giant puppets for the parade.
