Consultation on Proposed Changes to Admissions 2021-2022
Last year Waddesdon CE School changed its catchment area to exclude a small part of Fleet Marston and Aylesbury Vale Academy included the corresponding area within its secondary catchment. This small area formed part of a larger development proposal for 3000 homes, which fell largely within Aylesbury Vale Academy’s secondary catchment area. While the development was refused back in 2015, it was still felt important to plan for any subsequent planning applications that might be submitted on the same site in the future.
As a result of the secondary catchment change, we are now looking to align the catchment area of the primary phase of Aylesbury Vale Academy with that of the secondary phase. We are therefore proposing to include a small part of Fleet Marston into our primary catchment. The catchment proposals would ensure consistency across the whole academy, which is a through-school for pupils 2-18, and remove any confusion for prospective parents. The proposed change in catchment area would come into effect from September 2021.
We would expect the catchment changes to have little impact for existing catchment children, as there are very few residential properties and currently no pupils living in the area concerned. We would look to review our catchment again if any significant future housing proposals were approved in the area. Consultation on the proposed changes to the Admissions Policy will start on 1st October 2019 and run for 6 weeks. All comments should be addressed to the Chair of Governors email@example.com.
