APP-Prentice Challenge Entfest Finalists

Written by David Hall from Cloudy Group (organisers)

What an amazing couple of weeks we've had at the App-Prentice Challenge. We worked with over 100 students, 3 schools which culminated in a final vote at Entfest hosted by the University of Buckingham on Friday (28 June 2019). The 3 winning teams presented their apps to nearly 1500 students, staff and the public to be voted the best app and the winning team then went on stage with Peter Jones himself to receive their award!

Congratulations to The Computer Predators from Aylesbury Vale Academy who won the overall competition with their Anonymous Victims health and well-being app for reporting bullying,  second place choose by Nick Hewer was team SAPP from Mandeville school who’s Safe App was designed to offer help, advice and general support for students. Finally Team Worky from Buckinghamshire University Technical college came in a respectable 3rd with their app designed for students to stay organised.

Organising this event over the last 6 months has been a challenge in its self, but ultimately we all came together and delivered an event that inspired the students involved, giving them technical, practical and social skills which they will most definitely use in their adult lives. So thank you so much!
