Lateral Flow Testing
All secondary students are required to do a lateral flow test before they come to school on Mondays and Thursdays. Students have been issued with home testing kits along with instructions. Please refer to the letter sent out on the 11th March by Mr Gibson. Students will be issued with more home testing kits when these run out.
Primary children will not be tested.
Returning to School
Uniform
- Students should attend in full school uniform as far as is possible. We understand students may have grown out of some items, so please look to replace these as soon as you can and notify your child’s Achievement Director if this is the case.
Equipment
- Students should arrive with all of their own equipment as items cannot be loaned out for hygiene reasons. The equipment list remains the same as the autumn term.
Face Masks
- All secondary students will be required to wear face masks in all areas including classrooms until further notice. Students who are exempt should ensure they have their exemption card ready to show staff.
- Face masks do not need to be worn by students when outside on schools site but should be worn on all forms of public transport.
Buses
- No. 4 and No. 12 buses will operate as normal from Tuesday 9th March.
Attendance
- Attendance is mandatory for all students.
- If your child has been identified as Clinically Extremely Vulnerable we will need to see a letter confirming that they are advised not to attend school whilst shielding guidance is in place.
Academy Expectations
- Arrive to school and lessons on time
- Wear the correct uniform
- Bring the correct equipment
- Follow instructions first time
- Do their best
- Show respect for others
Students are also reminded by all the Health and Safety Expectations for staff and students. This information will be displayed in every classroom and corridor.
Covid Awareness
Students should not attend school if their child has:
- a high temperature
- a new continuous cough
- a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste
If they are displaying the above symptoms or they have been in close contact with someone who tests positive for coronavirus (COVID-19) parents should:
- self-isolate immediately and not come to school and inform attendance team of their absence
- book a test if you or your child has symptoms.
Students should also self-isolate if:
- anyone in their household or support or childcare bubble develops symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19)
- they are required to do so having recently travelled from certain other countries
- they have been advised to isolate by NHS test and trace or the PHE local health protection team, which is a legal obligation
- provide details of anyone they have been in close contact with, if they test positive for coronavirus (COVID-19) or if asked by NHS Test and Trace
