Moving into Year 6
Transition Day 2020 for children moving into Year 6
Good morning Future Year 6!
We are very disappointed not to be meeting you all face-to-face, but we hope you enjoy the activities we've planned for you! Hopefully, they will help us learn a little more about you before we meet properly in September!
We have set 2 activities - we would love for you to do both, but if you only spend time on one, that's OK too:
Activity 1: Year 6 Interviews
Being in Year 6 is an important job! For that reason, we would like you to apply for that very job. We have created an application form, recorded a video of Mr Sandalls and Mrs Stewart asking the questions and welcome you to write us a letter explaining why you are right for the job!
To clarify, for this task there are three ways for you to show us your learning:
1) Completing the application form.
2) Filming yourself answering the video questions in response to our video! (We'd really love to see some videos; we had a lot of fun filming ours for you!)
3) Writing us a letter to support your application - telling us why you're going to make a fantastic Year 6.
We can't wait to see your applications and we are confident that you are the right people for the job!
Activity 2: Figure Me Out
This is your chance to show off your maths skills and tell us a little more about yourself. All your questions need to be answered by a number sentence. Attached to this task is a template (you could easily create your own) and also a couple of examples. Have fun and try to give us lots to figure out about you!
Your completed activities can be sent to us at: year6enquiries@theacademy.me or submitted here on SMHW. Alternatively, if you are attending sessions in school on a Friday you could bring in paper copies then.
We can't wait to see what you do!
Future Year 6, we are so excited to have you joining us in Year 6 in September. Work hard on your transition work - try to impress us!
Most importantly, stay safe and have a great summer.
Mr Sandalls and Mrs Stewart
