Children spend approximately only a third of their waking hours at school. This means that the learning that takes place in school time can only be truly effective when it is built on, supported by and consolidated at home. Through providing information about children’s learning and their targets, through supplying relevant activities, that children are expected to complete at home, and through providing practical opportunities for parents to engage with we hope to support parents in the task of truly maximising their children’s learning.
For information on parent workshops and other activities to help existing parents with learning at home, please see our parents’ pages and for links to websites for homelearning and help with homeowrk, visit the home learning section in our pupil pages.
We hope parents will find the following resources useful when supporting their children's learning at home.
