In the Design Technology Department this week, we held our annual cake decorating competition — and it definitely felt very festive!

AVA staff came together on Friday 21 November for a lively Quiz Night in support of Diabetes UK. A dozen teams from both Primary and Secondary phases took part, raising almost £1,000 for the charity.

To continue providing students with outstanding careers guidance and tailored support when choosing their next steps after school, we use Unifrog, an award-winning online destinations platform. All students in Years 7–13 have access to Unifrog.
This week our whole school took part in Remembrance assemblies, many led by Rev Lane. On Tuesday, we marked Armistice Day in school, with all children observing a minute’s silence at 11.00am. Some of our pupils joined their secondary colleagues to represent AVA at a Remembrance Service.

Last week our Anti-Bullying Ambassadors have worked incredibly hard. They created tutor time activities for every day this week for all students, focusing on this year’s theme: “the power of good”.
