This coming week is National Apprenticeship Week. All students will take part in a range of tutor-time activities to learn more about apprenticeships and the opportunities they offer.

To celebrate 70 years of the The Duke of Edinburgh's Award, participants can walk, wheel, or run 120 miles anywhere, at any time, between 1 and 31 March 2026. It’s a flexible challenge that can be completed in small chunks — after school, at weekends, or as a family.
A fire crew and their engine visited school today to talk to our Reception children. It was a real highlight — the children loved seeing the fire engine up close (and even climbing inside!), and we could hear squeals of delight all the way from the staff room!
The AVA Parent Teacher Association has kindly purchased new equipment for our sensory gym, helping us further develop this valuable space for pupils who need time to regulate, reset and feel ready to return to learning.
Our Year 3 WOW Day launched their upcoming Stone Age topic — always a firm favourite with the children. The costumes were fantastic and certainly made the lunch hall an exciting place to be!
Our Year 10 and 11 History students demonstrated exemplary respect, curiosity and resilience as we navigated our way through an icy, snowy three-day tour of Berlin last week.
School finishes Friday 13th February (normal time).
A group of Year 10 students visited the University of Reading on Wednesday 4 February — their first ever visit to a university campus. They said the day was both inspiring and really valuable.
An information evening for students and parents already signed up for the New York trip will take place on Tuesday 3 March.
