Aylesbury Vale Academy Celebrates Year 13 Exam Success

Aylesbury Vale Academy is delighted to celebrate the achievements of its Year 13 students in this summer's A Level and BTEC examinations. Students have once again demonstrated the Academy's values of Respect, Aspiration and Resilience, with many achieving results that were above or well above national averages and securing excellent destinations beyond Sixth Form.

These results reflect the hard work and determination of our students, the dedication of our staff, and the leadership of Ms Sharma and Ms Marina, Joint Heads of Sixth Form. The continued growth of our Sixth Form is reflected in increasing student numbers and an expanded offer of Level 3 vocational and A Level courses, providing even greater opportunities for students to pursue their ambitions.

We are especially proud of the strong performance across a number of subjects and courses:

  • BTEC Business Studies Extended Diploma: 79% of students achieved Triple Distinction or better, with students performing well above the national average. 1
  • BTEC Health and Social Care Extended Diploma: 50% of students achieved Triple Distinction or better, with almost 90% achieving Triple Merit or better, demonstrating strong outcomes and excellent preparation for future study and employment.
  • A Level Psychology outcomes were well above expectations and among the strongest performances in the Academy. We also saw particularly strong results in Applied Science, Geography, Music, Sport and Information Technology, reflecting the strength and breadth of our Sixth Form curriculum across both academic and vocational pathways.

We are also delighted by the success of key groups of students. Outcomes for disadvantaged students were above national averages, reflecting our commitment to ensuring success for all learners regardless of background.

Students will now progress to a wide range of destinations, including university, apprenticeships, employment and further training, demonstrating their ambition and the high-quality guidance they received throughout their time at the Academy.

These results are a reflection of the incredible effort and resilience shown by our students, the dedication of our staff, and the strong leadership within our Sixth Form. We are immensely proud of every student and excited to see them take the next steps in their journey. I would like to thank Ms Sharma and Ms Marina for their exceptional leadership and support throughout the year. Congratulations to all our Year 13 students. You have truly embodied the spirit of Aylesbury Vale Academy, and we look forward to seeing all that you will achieve in the future.
