Resilience and Determination Drive Year 11 Success

Aylesbury Vale Academy is delighted to celebrate the outstanding achievements of our Year 11 students, whose examination results released today reflect not only academic success but also the values that define our school community: Respect, Aspiration and Resilience.

This year's cohort have achieved an excellent set of results, with both Attainment and Progress improving on last year's outcomes. We are particularly pleased to see increased numbers of students securing the crucial Grade 4 and Grade 5 passes in both English and Mathematics, providing strong foundations for their next steps in education, training and employment.

Among the many individual successes, this cohort achieved the highest number of Grade 9s in the Academy's history, representing an increase of more than a third compared to last year. An exceptional performance came from Lizzie Stevens, who achieved an incredible eight Grade 9s, placing her among the Academy's and the nation's highest-achieving students.

These results are a testament to the hard work, determination and ambition shown by our students throughout their five years at Aylesbury Vale Academy. Having begun their secondary education in the wake of the pandemic, this cohort has demonstrated remarkable resilience and commitment, overcoming challenges, embracing opportunities, and striving to achieve their very best.

We are immensely proud of every student, not only for their academic achievements but also for the positive contribution they have made to the life of the Academy. They have consistently embodied our values and have been outstanding role models within our school community.

We also wish to recognise the dedication and professionalism of our staff. The success of this cohort has been built upon the unwavering support, expertise and encouragement of teachers and support staff who have challenged students to achieve their very best.

Special recognition goes to Mr Wakefield, Achievement Director for Year 11, whose leadership, care and relentless focus on student success have helped guide this year group through their final year at the Academy. Alongside his exceptional team, Ms Powell and Ms Proud, he has provided invaluable support, guidance and encouragement, ensuring that every student had the opportunity to fulfil their potential.

As our students prepare for the next stage of their journey, whether that be sixth form, college, apprenticeships or employment, they do so equipped with the knowledge, skills and confidence to thrive.

Congratulations, Year 11. These results reflect your hard work, determination and ambition, and we look forward to seeing all that you will achieve in the future.
