A Positive Start for YONDR at AVA
This week saw the successful launch of YONDR pouches across the school. We would like to thank parents and carers for their continued support and our students for embracing the new procedures so positively.
Students have responded well to the new expectations, and we are already seeing the benefits of a phone-free school environment.
Many students have shared that they are enjoying school more without the distraction of notifications or the pressure to check their phones throughout the day. We have also noticed more positive interactions during social times, with students spending more time engaging with their peers. The end of the school day has also been noticeably calmer and more orderly.
We will continue to monitor the impact of YONDR over the coming weeks.
Earlier Morning Access
As a reminder, school doors now open at 8:05am each morning, allowing students to arrive earlier than previously.
Important Reminders for Students
- YONDR pouches must be visible and fully locked when entering the school site.
- Staff will carry out checks at entry points each morning.
- Spot checks will take place throughout the school day to ensure mobile phones are securely stored in their pouches.
- Students must keep their YONDR pouch with them at all times during the school day.
Thank you once again to our whole school community for helping to make the introduction of YONDR such a positive success. Together, we are creating a more focused, engaging and sociable learning environment for everyone.
