DofE Students Navigate Challenges on Berryfields Practice Walk
Sixty students working towards their Bronze and Silver Duke of Edinburgh Awards recently took part in a practice walk around Berryfields.
With phones handed in at the start, they relied solely on their maps and compasses to navigate the route from Berryfields to Hardwick and back. Sounds easy? Not quite—throw in livestock, broken stiles, and specific grid references for switching group leaders, and it became a real challenge.
Despite the obstacles, the students were fantastic and made the most of the beautiful weather. Well done, everyone! Not long now until our full Practice Expeditions.
