Year 11 Results Mark a Triumph Over Adversity

Aylesbury Vale Academy is delighted to celebrate the fantastic achievements of our Year 11 students, whose examination results released today reflect not only academic excellence but the very heart of our school’s values: Respect, Aspiration, and Resilience.

This remarkable cohort began their secondary school journey in September 2020, at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. Their first experiences of school life were shaped by ‘class bubbles’, social distancing, and remote learning. Despite these extraordinary challenges, they have shown unwavering resilience, growing into confident, capable young people who have earned the respect of their peers, teachers, and wider community.

Their results today are a testament to their aspiration - the drive to succeed, to overcome obstacles, and to aim high in all they do. We are immensely proud of every student, not only for their academic achievements but for the way they have embodied our values throughout their time at Aylesbury Vale Academy.

We also want to pay tribute to the incredible work of our staff. The success of Year 11 is built on the tireless dedication of their teachers, who have gone above and beyond to support, challenge, and inspire. Their commitment to excellence and belief in every student has made this moment possible.

Special thanks goes to Mr Hawley, Head of Year 11, whose excellent leadership, care, and high expectations have guided this cohort through their final year. His work, alongside that of every class teacher, has been instrumental in helping our students realise their potential.

Mr Gibson, Principal said:

“This is more than a celebration of results - it’s a celebration of our values in action. Our Year 11 students have faced challenges no other cohort has had to face, and they have come through with strength, maturity, and excellence. We are proud of them, and we are excited to see what they will go on to achieve.”

As these students prepare to take their next steps - whether into sixth form, college, apprenticeships, or employment - we know they carry with them the skills, values, and confidence to thrive.

Congratulations, Year 11. You have made history—and we couldn’t be prouder.
