Silver DofE Practice Expedition Success
From Thursday 4th to Saturday 6th June, our 37 Silver Duke of Edinburgh's Award students demonstrated outstanding resilience and determination as they completed their Practice Expedition in challenging weather conditions.
Thursday and Saturday brought persistent rain, testing both spirits and waterproofs, while Friday provided a welcome respite and an opportunity for everyone to dry out.
Our staff team manned checkpoints throughout the expedition, and despite a few groups taking some minor alternative routes along the way, all students successfully navigated using their maps and checked in at every checkpoint.
We are incredibly proud of the perseverance, teamwork and positive attitude shown by all participants.
Now, after giving the tents plenty of time to dry out, we look forward to the Qualifying Expeditions later this year – with our Silver students heading to the Cotswolds and our Gold students taking on the challenge of the Peak District.
