Welcome to THE AYLESBURY VALE ACADEMY SIXTH FORM
The Aylesbury Vale Academy Sixth Form gives students a springboard into the next stage of their lives - whether that's university, further study, or the world of work. This is built on a broad and robust curriculum, high academic expectations, and close relationships between students and their teachers and form tutors, who monitor progress and oversee personal development throughout their time with us.
At the heart of Sixth Form life are our three core values: respect, aspiration and resilience. Students are treated as young adults, encouraged to aim high, and supported to build the strength of character they'll need for whatever comes next. We are committed to enhancing the life chances of every learner we serve, whatever their starting point, and to fostering strong habits of attendance, reading and commitment that underpin success both in the classroom and beyond it.
Sixth formers work in a friendly, but work-focused environment, where great importance is placed on the relationships students build with staff who support their academic and personal growth every step of the way.
As the new Head of Sixth Form, I look forward to building and growing our Sixth Form, and to working with our students and their families to help them achieve everything they're capable of.

To make the lives of all AVA children better we will continue to:
- Ensure our teaching and all our work with young people is high quality and grounded in high expectations so that learners achieve and read exceptionally well.
- Deliver a high-quality, ambitious and well sequenced curriculum for all pupils which places reading at its core and allows children to thrive.
- Close gaps in attainment, behaviour, engagement, and opportunity so all learners are equally prepared to thrive in education and life.
- Empower learners to have resilient, respectful, and aspirational attitudes so they are able to thrive.
- Foster a sense of belonging in our students so that attendance is consistently above the national average.
