Duke of Edinburgh Expeditions

On Friday 16 and Saturday 17 June 40 students went on the qualifying expedition for their bronze DofE award. Mr Braybrook is pleased to confirm that every student passed the expedition element of their award. They made the school proud with their resilience and respect.

On the campsite, they were able to use their camp craft skills to put up their tents and cook meals independently. Another group that were camping commented on how amazing the students were.

Altogether it was an amazing experience for students and staff and they all came back with huge smiles on their faces.

Silver Duke of Edinburgh Expedition

The following week, from Thursday 22 June to Saturday 24 June, Mrs Crumpton, Miss Lambourne, Mrs Perrin, Mr Lobb and Mr Braybrock had the pleasure of supervising and assessing the 17 students on their Silver Duke of Edinburgh expedition. There were six Year 11 students and 11 Year 10 students orienteering their way around the beautiful – but hilly! – Cotswolds.

Their team work was brilliant and they definitely showed amazing resilience and aspiration to reach the end, the hot weather did not make the days easy for them

Well done on a successful expedition, we look forward to the next group of students to join us next year.
