Happy Hanukkah!
This week we wish our Jewish Community a 'Happy Hanukkah' or 'Hanukkah sameach!'
The first candle of Hanukkah will be lit at nightfall on Sunday 14 December.
This marks the beginning of the eight-day festival of Hanukkah, which concludes on December 22.
The festival commemorates the rededication of the Second Temple in Jerusalem and celebrates the triumph of light over darkness.
It marks the victory of the Maccabees and the miracle of the oil that lasted for eight days.
We wish our Jewish community 'Chag urim sameach!' which means 'Happy Festival of Lights'.
