National School Sports Week will be taking place Monday 20th-Thursday
23rd June. All students across the academy will have the opportunity to
participate in the AVA 'Race for Life' event, with every student receiving a
medal for all their hard work and effort.
Young Professionals have an exciting opportunity for our students. Working
with British Airways they are running a 3-day Business Virtual Work
Experience program to give students the chance to gain an insight into the
professional teams at BA's Head Office.
Recently our year 11 learners attended an assembly outlining the launch of our new prospectus and the subjects we will be offering here at the AVA entry 2022/2023.
Last year’s DofE group from Aylesbury Vale Academy dedicated 169 hours to volunteering between April 2021 and March 2022, with a social value of £780.78.
Recently our Year 7s wrote letters to a school in Northern Spain as part of our Pen Pal Project. Our students wrote half their letter in English outlining life in their secondary school and half in Spanish describing Aylesbury.
Recently 43 Year 10 Historians took part in a tour of Hampton Court Palace.
Friday, we launched our first Year 10 Girls Self-Growth Programme. Working with the beauty company Dove we are rolling out a 6-week course with a small selection of Year 10 girls who we feel need support with their confidence and self-growth.
Premed Projects are running special 1 and 2-week programmes in London during the summer holidays, designed for students thinking of applying for medicine.
Young Professionals UK are hosting a virtual 'Women in Engineering Event' in support of International Women in Engineering Day on Thursday 23rd June (5pm - 6:30pm)
AVA celebrated the Queen's Jubilee Day Celebrations with a number of activities before the half-term break.
A big well done to the 45 students who completed their DofE practice expedition on Friday and Saturday, 13 and 14th May.
