World Book Day Celebrations
World Book Day wouldn't be World Book Day if you didn't have the chance to dress up! This year we would like you to take a picture of yourself reading in the most outrageous outfit possible. There will be a book related prize for the craziest looking reader in each class. To send in your photos, please post them to your year group's enquires email. Have fun and we look forward to seeing a different you.
Another mainstay of World Book Day are the £1 book tokens. But where are they? This year, the organisers of World Book Day have made the tokens available online. Go to the following web address: https://www.worldbookday.com/digital-book-token/ then scroll down and complete / submit the yellow form to register. You should soon receive an email with links to the digital token which you can print. It is as simple as that.
The tokens are valid until 28th March 2021 and can be used to buy either the exclusive WBD £1 books or to get £1 off any book or audio book with a value over £2.99. In town, the big supermarkets and WH Smith, which are still open, will naturally accept the printed tokens across the counter. Moreover, many booksellers will except the tokens for online or telephone purchases. However, in this instance, please check with the seller before attempting to do so. All participating booksellers are listed at the following website: https://www.booksellers.org.uk/wbd
In celebration, teachers in the primary school have shared a video of themselves reading a picture book for primary children to enjoy.
