ADMISSIONS

Joining Reception

The local authority has a statutory duty to ensure children of school age are placed in a suitable school.  As such, Buckinghamshire Council coordinates admissions for children starting full-time school and entering into the Reception Year.  This is the school year in which a child becomes 5 and the application process usually takes place between early November and mid January of the previous school year.  The most up-to-date information can be obtained from,  the Buckinghamshire Council website by following the link here - Buckinghamshire Council, and selecting Starting school or moving up to Junior school.

Please note applications through the Buckinghamshire Council online system are made by selecting 'The Aylesbury Vale Academy Primary'.

Please email admissions@theacademy.me regarding admissions for Reception upwards. (Please direct pre-school applications through to the Primary school office).

Joining in Year 1 or Above

The school coordinates its own in-year admissions for children joining the school in Year 1 and above and aims to help those moving into the Berryfields development and those joining from other schools continue their education with as little disruption as possible.  Parents are invited to apply using the in-year admission form available below.

For further information please contact admissions@theacademy.me.

Appeals

The admission appeals timetable and 'The Aylesbury Vale Academy Trust Admissions Appeal Process' can be found below.

Parents are advised that appeals for school places in reception and years 1 and 2 can only be upheld when they meet the strict criteria laid out in legislation.
