Duke of Edinburgh's Award - 2027 Expedition Dates

Students at Aylesbury Vale Academy have the opportunity to take part in the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (DofE). We have successfully run the Bronze and Silver Awards for a number of years and, last year, were delighted to run our first Gold Award

Further information about the programme and how to take part will be shared with parents, carers and students via email and assemblies. However, to help families plan ahead, the key dates for this year’s programme have now been confirmed.

Please check all the relevant dates carefully before enrolling.

Practice Walk

Thursday 22 April – Period 5 until 6.00pm

For all Bronze participants and any Silver or Gold participants who have not previously completed the Bronze Award.

Camp Out

Friday 7 May

For all Bronze participants and any Silver or Gold participants who have not previously completed the Bronze Award.

Practice Expeditions

Bronze: Friday 14 – Saturday 15 May
Silver/Gold: Thursday 10 – Saturday 12 June

Qualifying Expeditions

Bronze: Friday 18 – Saturday 19 June
Silver: Thursday 1 – Saturday 3 July
Gold: Saturday 17 – Tuesday 20 July

Completing the DofE Award

Please remember that the expedition is only one part of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award. Participants must also successfully complete their Skills, Physical and Volunteering sections in order to complete their award.
