School Closure Continues – Friday 26 June

Following the Red Heat Health Alert issued by Buckinghamshire Council, Aylesbury Vale Academy will remain closed on Friday 26 June.
Over the past two days, temperatures within the school building have reached exceptionally high levels, with the Atrium exceeding 44°C and empty classrooms recording temperatures of over 32°C. These conditions make it unsafe to provide a suitable learning environment, and the decision has therefore been taken to continue with remote learning for one further day. Details are as follows:
Remote Learning
Primary (Reception to Year 6)
For those children who have completed the work that was sent home on Tuesday, we will be posting a project-based task on this website and it will be available HERE at 8am, tomorrow.
Secondary (Years 7 to 10)
Students will be set Remote Learning tasks via Teams for any lesson they have on Friday 26 June.
Current weather forecasts indicate cooler temperatures next week, and we are planning to reopen the school as normal on Monday 29 June, subject to conditions remaining suitable.
A letter regarding this extended closure was sent to parents/carers today, a copy of which can be accessed HERE (or below).
