Winter Water Safety Reminder
As the weather gets colder, please take a moment to talk to your children about staying safe around frozen ponds, lakes and rivers.
Key tips:
🚫 Never walk or play on frozen water
🐶 Keep dogs on a lead near icy or slippery banks
⚠️ Beware of wooden and rocky surfaces – they can be very slippery
🌿 Ice is often thin near the edge and around pipes, trees and plants
🆘 If someone falls in, do not go onto the ice to help – call 999 and follow the Water Safety Code
