Joining the Nursery
The school currently runs morning and afternoon classes for children who have already had their third birthday by the start of each school year in September. Most children join the nursery in the September after they become 3 and will attend for 5 sessions each week in either the morning or afternoon N2 class.
There is an additional morning class for 2/3 year-olds where places are given to those entitled to 2 year-old funding from the September after they become 2. The school coordinates admissions for children joining its nursery and parents are invited to apply using the nursery admission form, which is available below or on request from the school office. More information is available in the Nursery Admission Policy below or by following the link to our Policies page.

Parents of children in the nursery are not guaranteed a full-time place in school and must apply for this separately and in accordance with the procedure published each year by Buckinghamshire County Council.
The local authority has a statutory duty to ensure children of school age are placed in a suitable school. As such, Buckinghamshire County Council coordinates admissions for children starting full-time school and entering into the Reception Year. This is the school year in which a child becomes 5 and the application process usually takes place between early November and mid January of the previous school year. The most up-to-date information can be obtained from, the Buckinghamshire County Council website by following the link below and selecting Starting school or moving up to Junior school. The admissions team may be contacted directly by selecting Contact School Admissions from the drop-down menu.
Please note applications through the County Council online system are made by selecting 'The Aylesbury Vale Academy (Berryfields Church of England Primary School)'.
Joining in Year 1 or Above
The school coordinates its own in-year admissions for children joining the school in Year 1 and above and aims to help those moving into the Berryfields development and those joining from other schools continue their education with as little disruption as possible. Parents are invited to apply using the in-year admission form available below.
For further information please contact the school office.
Details about the appeals process can be found in our admissions policy available below or by following the link to our policies page. Parents are advised that appeals for school places in reception and years 1 and 2 can only be upheld when they meet the strict criteria laid out in legislation. Further information about the appeal process and timeline, including an information leaflet produced by the Local Government Ombudsman can be found below.
The Admission Appeal Form can be obtained by the school on request.
